Man, sometimes God just gives me chills.  I’m writing this blog at 2:54 AM on Saturday with about 2 & a half hours before I clock in for a seven hour shift starting at 7 AM, and minutes ago that quickly approaching hour almost caused me to skip todays Compass assignment (actually I suppose it was yesterday, but oh well :).  Of course I was irresponsible with my time and it ended up being this gruesome hour with my hardly noticing it.  I do my quiet times at night and occassionally, especially during the school year, I’ve been known to skip the bible for a few more minutes of sleep.
Tonight I figured because of the circumstances this was excusable, and just as I was pulling my blankets up I noticed my journal type thing laying right in front of my bed.  I felt guilty, and reluctantly opened up The Compass planning on skimming through and muttering a few half-asleep prayers. Todays entry about unity really got to me though.  We’re so close to our trip, so close to getting to meet each other and getting to know all about the people God has called specifically together for this trip.
In the passage, Jesus prays that we, the believers, will be united just as He and God are.  He even prays that we would be “one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” Christ and God are so intertwined with each other that they are one, and Christ is praying here that we would all be as close with each other as He is with God. This is a big deal, and a big task! Immediately I felt that I can be doing so much more to get to know y’all and pray for you.  What can I pray for you guys about? Bolivia related or not, I feel like one of the best ways to be a cohesive team capable of spreading Christ’s name in a foreign country is by praying for each other.

I started typing out a prayer for us and finished it to look over and see that I had just unknowingly completed the assignment!  Short and simple though it is, I earnestly pray these things for us all and know that God wont dissapoint me:

Father, please touch the hearts of all the Bolivia team today.  Show them your love in some manner, that they would all be encouraged and excited about our upcoming trip.  Please give our team a collective heart for your will, and enable us to give our best attempts at following it.  I ask that you would grant us the same kind of unity that you have with Christ. Help us to be able to effectively carry the message of your love to Bolivia. You’ve blessed us all so much with the opportunity to travel across hemispheres to Bolivia, and I pray Lord that we will in turn bless the people you’ve willed us to meet.  I pray that everything we do will glorify you. In Christ’s holy name I pray these things, amen.
